Barney Says
An oystercatcher is a large, stocky black and white bird that wades around looking for cockles on shores all around the UK. Unless you’re in Chorlton, where Oystercatcher is a tremendous local fish restaurant where one can expect to sit on the terrace and enjoy an enviably good bowl of mussels and chips with gentle service and a crisp glass of white wine. There are other things on the menu of course, such as seafood platters, tandoori monkfish and kedgeree scotch eggs to name a few (the latter is ingenious). We wouldn’t recommend bringing someone who doesn’t eat fish, but we would recommend bringing everyone else.
