They’ve barely been open 15 minutes but already Higher Ground is one of the best restaurants in the country. No, really. Well according to the National Restaurant Awards anyway. Admittedly it’s yet another attempt at the British tapas that we so affectionately call small plates, but the chefs in this particular kitchen might as well have invented the genre. Many great and long lasting creations have been born in Manchester; canals, music, computers, Vimto, the beautiful union between Posh and Becks to name a few… Higher Ground looks set to continue the tradition.
