Barney Says
Specialising in Nyona cuisine, which, in more simplistic terms, is food of the first Chinese immigrants settling in Malaysia. The dishes have a familiar feel to them, yet are done so beautifully and restrained that it could only be from this family run staple of Chinatown. Have just ten pounds? Order the Hainanese chicken rice, which is a hawker stall classic of poached chicken with the rice boiled in the cooking liquor. Feeling slightly more adventurous? Add a side of their marmite fried chicken. The jury is out on how authentic it is, though the flavour is never in question.
