A few seconds’ walk from one of Cardiff’s main shopping streets isn’t where you’d expect to find authentic regional Chinese cooking, but then Barney knows this stuff. Come here for hearty bowls of deep noodly bliss (it’s cash only, but there are machines just moments away.) The duck with potato noodles and the pork are particularly good, but don’t overlook Sichuanese chicken or cumin beef. If you’re feeling adventurous, ask about the specials, chalked up in Mandarin. Be warned: once you know about this place, you’ll quickly find yourself becoming a regular.
