We’re going to stick our neck out here and say that Colbeh is the only place to order Persian food in this city. It’s in their blood and you can feel it with every mouthful; with food that is a testament to patience and the balance between savoury and sweet. The menu is vast and will require some navigating, so we will help like the good little Barneys we are. Have a skewer of minced chicken kebab, another of minced lamb. Pile onto the nigh-on-perfect flatbreads with lots of chilli sauce and don’t be shy with the barberries that litter the rice. Close your eyes and transport yourself to Tehran in the 1970’s when life was less complicated. Flared jeans optional.
