COTTO

Barney Says

There is an art to a great restaurant. It’s a delicate craft that Cotto achieves effortlessly. Cotto is one of the youngest siblings of the unimpeachable Bianchis group, serving small and slightly larger plates of creative Italian cuisine from its home on St Stephen’s Street.

Every now and then you need to go to a restaurant like Cotto. The artistry of taking simple ingredients and elevating them beyond the known possibilities of their collective parts will leave you feeling inspired and refreshed. If you won’t take our word for it, take Jay Rayners, who said after his visit ‘all was right with the world and all was absolutely right with Bristol. As ever.’

Even if you can’t make it for dinner, it’s well worth whiling away an hour propping up the bar that makes up 50 per cent of this excellent establishment and working your way through their wine list.
