If you’re going to visit one Modern British small plates restaurant-cum-wine bar (and believe us when we say there’s quite a few) make it Erst. Every other restaurant serving the British take on tapas is simply not Erst. Once you’ve eaten there, you won’t believe that the head chef Patrick Withington used to be a plumber and has no professional training. He makes it look so easy. Pop in for a glass of natural wine from a delightfully comprehensive list and one of their famous flatbreads and stay to eat the rest of the menu.
