Cardiff’s most exciting tasting menus come from Great British Menu star Tommy Heaney. With a choice of à la carte or tasting menus (short and long) this is one if the area’s true peaks. Tommy has a particular way with fish and lamb, and oysters are a recurring theme (he spent time as a youngster living opposite Carlingford oyster farm) but you’ll find a succession of elegantly executed dishes- whatever you order. There’s a very laid-back feel to what Tommy and Nikki have created here, and this is clever, inventive cooking.
