There are many a good South East Asian restaurant in the UK but it’s still exceptionally rare to find one that actually tastes like you’re back in Thailand. Mekong Cat is just that, on the back streets of Stockport of all places. They serve food from the countries that the Mekong river runs through, so you can expect Vietnamese, Thai and Cambodian dishes. The restaurant isn’t much bigger than a couple of tuk-tuks and is the definition of chilled-out charm.
Don’t you dare not visit this restaurant because it’s not in the centre of town. You’d be an utter fool.
