By day, this bright airy room is where you come to brunch and lunch: the breakfast bun (those hash browns…) is already a Cardiff classic, and their bacon, cockles and laverbread on toast is Wales on a plate. By night it’s Mirkwood, and the menu veers into small plates territory- an impeccable buttermilk chicken burger, a lamb skewer flatbread, rigatoni with cuttlefish ragu or Welsh short rib with remoulade. The ‘Not very flat bread’ is two things: draped with lardo, and irresistible.
