Every city needs a restaurant like Ornella’s, where you can get a cracking bowl of pasta and a glass of wine with change to spare from £20. Getting a table may be something of a challenge, but all that will soon be forgotten when you’re basking in the glow of an aperol spritz and admiring the deli produce on offer behind the counter. Sicilian-born Ornella has an impressive hospitality CV which is very evident in every one of the delightful concoctions on offer in this tiny Italian haven in Denton. Well worth the half hour drive from town and the overwhelming fullness from insisting on the gelato-stuffed brioche.
