Barney Says
Glynn’s ode to the tapas bars of northern Spain has typical Purnell panache. Where some dishes are straight-up versions of the original – like the chorizo in red wine or the patatas bravas – others – like the aerated crema catalana – could come from the Michelin starred kitchen over the road. Much like Purnells the food is set to be divisive, but we are sticking our neck out from the off to say that we love it. Birmingham has been without a good Spanish restaurant for years, and Plates is exactly what we have been asking for.
