Root comes to us from a parallel universe, in which meat and fish are a mere afterthought and vegetables are the star of the show. And thank god it has managed to transcend the limitations of time and space because it’s easily one of Bristol’s best restaurants. Root is one of the founding fathers of Bristol’s effusive small plates scenes and you’ll be glad of it once you’re in there, because you’ll want to try everything and if your wallet allows it, you should. With all due respect, you would be a complete twit to mistake this as a restaurant just for vegetarians or vegans.
