Barney Says
There’s great pubs and then there’s the Edinburgh Castle. A bit like most of the chefs we know, it’s dark, it’s moody and it serves great food. Unlike most of its neighbours, the Edinburgh Castle has been in Ancoats since way before it was a cool suburb of Outer London. They serve an unfussy menu of bar snacks downstairs and modern takes on British classics upstairs. If you catch the workers’ lunch you can enjoy a whopping great chip butty creation with a pint for just £15. Who said you couldn’t teach an old dog new tricks eh?
